Free downloadable fonts

Recently I discovered the versatility of digital stamps and I am loving them... even though the 'squarie' in me took a bit of mental convincing that using digital stamps is not a betrayal of rubber stamps.  When you are living away from home, it's just a no-brainer not to have to tote all your rubber stamping supplies around the world with you.   Especially when you husband tells you that you are not going to be able to take all your accumulated stuff home with you when you eventually go home.

Anyway... today I discovered downloadable fonts to go with my digital stamps.  I hate seeing my own handwriting on my cards and great rub-ons are usually sold out online, and I couldn't find any really cool fonts in Microsoft word so I was really missing my rubber stamp sentiments.

While I was shopping online I came across some free downloadable True type fonts at Two Peas in a Bucket and then I started looking for more (after I worked out how to upload them to Word).  After a little bit of searching, I found this great website called Free Scrapbook Fonts with hundreds of free fonts to download  (there is also a link on the left side bar).   These fonts are provided by Amanda who has had a love affair with type fonts since she was a little girl.  She collects other people's handwriting and turns it into a font for your computer!  I think this is such a great idea!  And then... she very generously shares it with everyone for free!  Thanks very much Amanda!  I can't wait to print some sentiments out!

For instructions on how to upload the fonts to your computer so that they are available in Word etc.... have a look here.  There are also instructions for how to add your new cool custom fonts to Blogger, but at 11.30 at night, this was a bit too involved for me to attempt.

Anyway, have fun!
